Step-by-Step Instructions

Mga Hakbang-Hakbang na Instruksyon

  1. Download the GCash App

Go to the Google Play Store (Android) or Apple App Store (iPhone) and search for "GCash." Download the official app — look for the one by "Mynt - Globe Fintech Innovations" to avoid fake apps. The app is free to download and takes about 50-100MB of storage.

Make sure your phone's operating system is updated. GCash requires at least Android 5.0 or iOS 13. If your phone is too old, you may encounter errors during installation.

  2. Register Your Account

Open the GCash app and tap "Register". Enter your Globe or TM mobile number — this will be your GCash number. You'll receive a 6-digit OTP (One-Time Password) via SMS. Enter the code to verify your number.

    Next, create your account details:

    • Set a 4-digit MPIN (Mobile PIN) — this is your login code, so choose something you can remember but hindi madaling hulaan
    • Enter your full name (must match your government ID exactly)
    • Enter your birthdate and email address

Important: Your name on GCash must match your valid ID exactly. Kahit middle name or suffix, dapat tama. Mismatches will cause problems during verification.

  3. Verify Your Identity (KYC)

After basic registration, you'll have a Basic account with limited features. To unlock the full power of GCash, you need to complete full verification (Know Your Customer or KYC).

Go to your Profile > "Get Fully Verified" and follow the steps:

    • Take a photo of your valid government ID — make sure the photo is clear, well-lit, and walang natatakpan na text
    • Take a selfie — the app will ask you to position your face in an oval frame and may ask you to blink or smile for liveness detection
    • Confirm your personal info — address, source of income, etc.

Verification is usually processed within 24-72 hours, but sometimes it can take up to a week during peak periods. Once verified, your transaction limits increase significantly:

    • Basic account: ₱50,000 wallet limit, ₱50,000 monthly incoming
    • Fully verified account: ₱500,000 wallet limit, ₱500,000 monthly incoming

Know Your Customer o KYC).

    • I-confirm ang personal info mo — address, source of income, atbp.

    • Basic account: ₱50,000 wallet limit, ₱50,000 buwanang incoming
    • Fully verified account: ₱500,000 wallet limit, ₱500,000 buwanang incoming

  • Enable biometric login (fingerprint or face) for faster and more secure access — no need to type your MPIN every time.
  • Save frequently used billers so you can pay bills in just a few taps next time.
  • Check the GCash "Promos" section regularly for cashback offers, discounts, and vouchers from partner merchants.
  • Use GCash for savings — GSave (powered by CIMB Bank) offers higher interest rates than traditional savings accounts — check the current rate in the GCash app.
  • Screenshot your transaction receipts — if something goes wrong, you'll have proof of payment. GCash also saves transaction history in the app, but screenshots are good backup.
  • Never share your MPIN or OTP with anyone — GCash will never ask for these via call, text, or email. If someone asks, it's a scam.

Frequently Asked Questions

Mga Madalas Itanong

Is GCash safe?

Yes, GCash is regulated by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and uses bank-level security including encryption, MPIN protection, and biometric authentication. GCash is a BSP-regulated e-money issuer. While your GCash wallet funds are held in trust accounts, they are not directly covered by PDIC deposit insurance. However, funds placed in GCash banking products (like GSave through CIMB Bank) may be covered by PDIC up to P500,000. For details, check GCash's official terms. To stay safe, never share your MPIN or OTP, avoid clicking suspicious links, and enable biometric login. If you notice unauthorized transactions, report to GCash immediately through the app's Help Center or call 2882.

What's the maximum GCash balance?

For basic (unverified) accounts, the maximum wallet balance is ₱50,000 with a monthly incoming limit of ₱50,000. For fully verified accounts, the wallet limit increases to ₱500,000 with a monthly incoming limit of ₱500,000. The outgoing transaction limit is ₱100,000 per transaction for most services. If you need higher limits, you can apply for upgraded features through the app.

How to cash out GCash?

There are several ways to cash out (withdraw) from GCash:

  • Transfer to bank account: ₱15 fee via InstaPay (instant) or PESONet (next business day)
  • Over-the-counter: Visit partner outlets like 7-Eleven, SM Business Center, Cebuana Lhuillier, or Palawan Express. Present your GCash number and valid ID.
  • ATM withdrawal: If you have a GCash Mastercard, you can withdraw at any Mastercard-supported ATM

The fastest way is bank transfer via InstaPay — it takes less than a minute to process.

Paano mag-cash out sa GCash?

Maraming paraan para mag-cash out (mag-withdraw) mula sa GCash:

What if my GCash account is locked?

Your account may get locked if you enter the wrong MPIN 5 times consecutively, if suspicious activity is detected, or if your account is flagged during verification. Here's what to do:

  • Wrong MPIN lock: Wait 24 hours for the automatic unlock, or tap "Forgot MPIN" to reset via OTP
  • Account under review: Contact GCash support through the in-app Help Center, call 2882 (Globe/TM), or email help@gcash.com
  • Verification issues: Submit a clear photo of your valid ID and a selfie again through the app

For faster resolution, have your registered mobile number, full name, and a valid ID ready when contacting support. Avoid contacting unofficial "GCash support" accounts on social media — use only the official channels.
